Perhaps the news tonight of Possum Bourne, probably the best driver New
Zealand has ever seen, is having his life support switched off after a crash
at less than the national speed limit, might encourage some of you to stop
complaining about speed limits and stick to them.

Sad news.
Perhaps more a comment on the dangers of SUV's in accidents involving a
normal cars.
If you see one coming keep clear.

Come on! It was a head on at a, reported, combined speed of 120 km/h with a
4WD. Do you really think 10 or 20 km/h less would make any difference? It's
not speed that kills, it's bloody stupidity. If the 4WD driver kept to his
side of the road it wouldn't have happened.

Quite right, Lou.
Imagine what would have happened if they were sticking to the 100km/h limit!!

Thanks, one thing that really focuses the mind about road safety is riding or
driving something vulnerable. Like a MX5 or motorbike.
The number of close calls I've had in both with, mainly, 4WD's cutting blind
corners is a trifle scary.
