Wellington lurkers

Post by Mike Pearson - WYSIWYG... » Thu Apr 24, 2003 3:02 pm

Hi, I see from the various "0ut of office" replies, that there are a number
of Wellington people lurking on the list, who aren't a member of the
Wellington chapter. You therefore won't be receiving any of my messages
about upcoming Wellington events.

If you would like to see what the Wellington chapter does, then please RSVP
to this invitation for our next Wellington event. It will only take a ?
day, and should be a lot of fun. We will be seeing some out of town MX5s too
(great!). Even if you don't know the WAYPOINTS, you can certainly find the
TREASURES or do some SPOTTING.

Regards, Mike (Wellington Co-ordinator)

The Concrete Jungles Rally 25-May-2003
The Concrete Jungles Rally will take in some of Wellington's best sites. You
are advised to bring a partner to operate as a team. Teams are able to
select which sites they visit.

9am brunch and briefing - start at 10am, finish at 12. Winner announced by
1pm.

RULES
Teams have 120 minutes (2hrs) to get around as many waypoints as they
want/can!!! Teams must not split up. Cars must be driven and parked lawfully
at all times. We will know if you are naughty and double park or go the
wrong way down a one-way street. Teams will need to bring a map, a small bag
(for the treasures) and pen/pencil.

POINTS
Points will be given for the following; waypoints reached, mx5's spotted and
treasures collected. The team with the most points wins! Teams must return
to the start point before 120 minutes has elapsed. 5 points will be lost for
every minute you are over time.

TREASURES
While you're driving, you must search for treasures. There are 5x10pt,
5x20pt, 5x30pt treasures to be found.

SPOTTED CAMPAIGN
You will be given six SPOTTED fliers. If you spot an MX5 without an MX5Club
sticker or a SPOTTED flyer, place a flyer under the wiper and note the rego
plate. 6x20pts.

WAYPOINTS
Waypoints are worth different amounts of points depending on difficulty and
distance away from the start and finish. Teams are strongly recommended to
work out their proposed route before the event! There are 10x10pt, 9x20pt,
5x30pt waypoints to be visited.
