How much is insurance in NZ?

Hullo chaps,
I'm a Pom thinking of coming back to live in NZ. Being keen on Eunos
Roadsters - how much do you have to pay to insure one in Auckland?
Here in east London it would probably cost me about 1200 per annum, say
about $3000.
I'm a middle-aged bloke with no driving convictions - what sort of ball-park
figures are we talking about for insurance?

Expect to pay between NZ$400 and $700... dependant on excess amounts and
previous history.

Auckland would be $300-$400, elsewhere probably cheaper. So about a tenth of what you would pay in London.

Far far far less than that.

It varies a lot, based on age, sex, location, driving record, etc, but most
reports by owners of what they are paying for insurance fall in the range
$300-$1200. I would expect, being middle-aged, and aiming to be in
Auckland, you'd probably be looking at $400-$800 per year?

I'm not in the insurance industry, thats just an educated guess...

For your interest (as you aren't coming to the Best Island), mine costs
$200.00 for $8000.00 full cover. I am 52, with full no claim discount and a
$250.00 excess. This includes the soft top. I believe, from previous
discussions, the soft top might not be covered in some areas such as
Auckland, or at least have a higher excess on it.

I guess it depends on insurance company again. My insurance in Auckland is
just over $280, soft top is included and I'm not quite middle aged yet. The
good news is you can bring your no claims with you, I'm an ex pom and have
been here for a couple of years now.
