Super Air Flow Converter

Post by Paul Yeomans » Wed Apr 09, 2003 1:44 am

Hi All,
I have an Apexi Super Air Flow Converter fitted to my MX5. I bought the
car with it installed from Japan. I don't know if I'm getting the best
performance from it. Does anyone know the best settings to use? Thanks,
Paul

It fools around with the airflow signal before the ECU giving you the ability to alter air-fuel ratios. You could gain some power by leaning out high-rpm full throttle area, maybe better fuel economy by changing other zones... but a dyno or at the very least an AFR gauge should be used if you start twiddling!

I see, don't know if it's worth much on NA. An RX7 AFM does much the same and
gives more air flow as well.

Yeh afraid to start twiddling too much, I heard it can cause engine
knock. Does anyone know much about fitting a turbo to an MX5. I had it
on a track last month and its great around the corners but seriously
lacks speed on the straights. Whats the best tuning for the least
money?

The age old question. Go into Miata.net forum, use search and be prepared for
days of reading.
P S. search our list archives too.
