Grant, my kit runs without any timing control and it needs to have timing set at 7degrees to avoid detonation (I think 6deg is what Jackson recommend). It was running at 9 degrees for a while and it was much quicker but kept detonating. Instead of using all the auxiliary timing controls, its not much more expensive to get the "plug-in" LINK computer for it, which supposedly makes the car run much smoother, allows full adjustment of timing, has knock sensors, and does away with the restrictive air-flow meter. I'm currently saving up for a LINK myself.

Yes, saw these at the car show at Mystery creek - best part of $1400 I seem to recall. Is low end torque down noticeably then from stock even with the charger ? would 98 octane make a difference to your detonation woes?
