Matt
just spoke to Ray about your email, and to let you know your facts are close
but not quite accurate,
both of Rays supercharged 5's were insured with AMI, and it he made sure they
noted the fact they were supercharged,
and sure enough the assessor was quick to notify head office that the yellow
one had a blower on it when it was totalled, but they knew it was modified by
their records, this was one of the reasons why they paid Ray out in less than
a week, AMI then asked him if he still owned the red supercharged one, which
he confirmed he did,
they then said they would review this policy when it came up for renewal not
saying they would refuse hint! hint!,
they were not happy about it though, they even asked him if his Integra was
modified, and as Ray was going to sell the red one he removed the blower and
as far as i know the kit is still for sale down at Rotary Power, BUT!!!
Ray still has the red one and i got the impression that the blower might be
going back on again as the Honda S2000 deal fell over last year, this is
straight from the horses mouth Matt, he said say hi to everyone.
can you believe that accident was exactly one year ago!

Ooops, my apologies to Ray for any inaccuracies. It must have been the WOF people that Ray would con into believing the blower was factory fitted. Glad to here he hasn't gone to the darkside (terribly ugly, those Honda's).
The funny thing for me was that just before Rays accident I had insured my then new supercharged mx5 with AMI. At the time I bought it they said that there would be no problem insuring it, but after a few months of debating every little detail, making me get valuations and the car being inspected by AMI staff I got a rather rude letter in the mail telling me that as per a certain clause (which they misquoted) they were exercising their right to cancel my policy without giving any reason. I then had to go crawling back to the broker I had just left a few months before and beg forgiveness.

Insurance co's public standing is right up there with politicians, towies and
highway patrol.
