I used to have a hard-top on my old car and you really do appreciate it in the middle of winter when you get week after week of freezing cold and constant rain. Its much cosier inside and the larger glass rear window provides much better visibility (especially if your plastic soft-top window was as hazy as mine was) Its also good for security, but it certainly is a real pain in the butt when the crappy weather suddenly clears up and you're miles from home with a hard-top bolted on. My new car doesn't have a hard-top and I can't see me getting one soon . There are so many other things I'd rather buy for my car first.
