A belated note to say congratulations - I remember the feeling well from
September. Watch out for the classic top-down sunburn which goes from the
knees to the short-line (or in your case skirt-line, maybe) - a small but very
painful area! I exacerbated mine by spending two hours on a ride-on lawnmower
the other day...
Enjoy it.

Um... you've not been looking after the essential fluids in your car then...
Most people know about fuel, water, and oil, but your MX-5 has another
essential fluid that you must check the level of occasionally... its the
sunscreen in the glove-box.
Don't leave home without it.
Fletch.
P.S. and sunscreen's been needed every day for the last week... unbelievable
for Auckland!

I knew that in theory - but I am an experiential learner...
My hottest car ever was a 75 Falcon (backpackers car) which my wife and I
drove across Australia. It wouldn't do more than 80kph without burning fuel,
had no aircon, did have plastic bench seats and the windows wouldn't wind down
properly. One day it got so hot in there that the glue on the binding of our
copy of Lonely Planet melted! We still have it as a reminder - the pages stick
out an inch below the cover, as they slid down while the glue was liquid...
Thanks for the reminder
