Does anyone know where to get a diagonal chrome wire weave grill like the
MGs, Jags et al have?

If you wanted to make something try your local stainless steel /
aluminium supplier (Mico metals etc). A few years ago and they had
'rolls' of stainless mesh (about 1.5m wide) and sell by the metre. They
had about 5 or 6 different 'sizes' ranging from a fine kitchen sieve up
to about 10-20mm square - obviously the wire gets thicker gauge as the
hole gets bigger.

Have a word with Ross Campbell. I've just fitted one of his vertical mesh
grills. Stainless mesh. Removed both the hooks & the factory lights. Looks
great. Brightens up the rather dark nose of the MX5.

I installed a grille in my 2000 model, very high quality stainless steel
diamond mesh (woven diagonal strands), similar to the one you see on the Jag
XKR, and it came from the USA. The fit and finish, delivery and installation
instructions, were absolutely first class. See
http://groups.msn.com/buckdiamond/_home ... rket=en-us for full
details and many pictures. The hardest part about fitting is removing the
tie-down hooks, which you have to do for 1989-2000 models: 2001 on have
their hooks further recessed so they don't have to be removed.

Ross said he had problems with the mesh falling apart or twisting.
The vertical and horizontal ones look good but I much prefer the diagonal
weave pattern.

Hi All; This is the mesh I have and want to use but when you cut it it
comes apart as its not welded.Ill have to weld it to the frame and then cut
it.It looks good though in stainless.Ross.

I fitted this one to our car
www.lockwoodinternational.co.uk/grilles.htm
They're really dear to buy from here; put "Lockwood grille" into Google and
you'll find lots of people selling them. Ours came off eBay, less than half
price. Exceptional quality too.

Carl, your magic.
I was talking to a mate who's an engineer, he said he could obtain and cut
anything I wanted, but he would need a pattern.
Can I have a copy of yours please?
Thanks
