soft top catches

Hi,

I've recently started to experience problems with my soft top: one of the
'catches' (the two things you use to close the soft top) is out of use (it
won't close, because some plastic on it got damaged.. by frequent use, I
guess). I went to my garage today and they said that this piece would cost
me 250 USD to buy, which seems unreasonably high. Does anyone know a good
place where to buy it online, and the 'official' name of this thing, so
that I can
look it up.

I can't think of any plastic piece which would make the latch stop
working, unless you mean the plastic piece which covers the hexagonal
adjustment mechanism. It's on a hinge and it should just clip back into
place. If it's been damaged and doesn't fit back in, I'd try breaking it
off. The latch should work ok without it. The only down side is that you
'might' have to adjust the latch more frequently because the bolt isn't
being held in position, but I doubt it.

Failing that try a wrecker. Ross here in New Zealand will have the part
