Well i just finished my diy gauges last weekend and
they look great!!Thanks to Nigel E for sending me the
scans of the originals. I cleaned them up a bit and
then printed them onto an A4 sized piece of self
adhesive label paper that you can get from
computor/stationary shops. Then I stuck them to a
piece of white 0.75mm plastic sheet that i got from a
plastics manufacturer. Very carefully cut them out,
(The odometer holes were a PITA to get neat) reused
the original needle stoppers, and painted the needles
red. I think this is a much easier method than the
card/laminate method as the dials are nice and flat and very crisp looking.
Of course one of the clips that hold the cover on
broke but it didnt damage the outside of the cover
thankfully.and now ive just got to put a resistor in
the illumination line as they are very bright at night!(Look...5 Moons!)
Just thought id post it, just in case someone was
thinking about doing similar.
