I am in the nz mx5 club and have a 1992 mx5.
the question i have is about the oil pressure gauge in the car.
when the car is cold the gauge reads 5.5 to 6 at about 3000 rpm thats
good. oil cold but when car is hot and going about 100 kph about 3000
rpm oil pressure goes down to about 2.5 to 3 on gauge.is the gauge right
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
When oil is cold, it is thicker. The viscosity of the oil being thicker cause the pressure to read slightly higher. When the car is hot the oil is thinner, less viscous equaling less pressure on the gauge. It should be fine.

Same as mine I think the perssure drops as the oil gets hotter and
thinner.
