That's what an extra 500kg's does.
Get yourself an new turbo 5, then go find him again. Mind you, it's still a
lot slower than my old 5. 7.8 secs to 100km/h, I could damn near run that!

Well put Colin.
It's nice having a car that is fun to drive - but drive it responsibly.
My kids had to watch their friend get run over with two cars doing
exactly the same thing.
The kid spent the next 9 months in hospital. There is always a price to
pay for this kind of attitude.
By all means enjoy the car, but keep the racing to the tracks.

I remember a similar race between two cars up Hunua Gorge about 25 years ago. My off-sider, Warwick Peterson, and I pulled three dead kids out of a Ford Cortina as a result. We tried to keep one of them alive for more than three hours. The only survivor has never been the same since. In many ways, I guess, neither have I.
The most tragic thing I have ever seen is a lovely young girl and a good looking young man, sitting in the back seat of that Cortina, with their arms around each other, stone dead.
Those kids could have grown up to do wonderful things, and even if they didn't, the world might have been a better place, just for them being in it now. They did not give themselves that chance.
Shane, just permit an old copper to give you three words of advice. DEAD IS FOREVER! If you want to race your car, good on you, but the roads are not racetracks. Grow up while you have the chance, you will only ever get one.
Regards
Eric West

FYI - the aussie AVO kit starts at less than that ... ~$4000 if I remember right. Depends what you get/want of course !!
The new turbo is "low" output apparently due to parts carry-over and warranty friendly-ness. No doubt there will be lots of warranty-voiding hot bits shortly!
