I think the original Mazda battery (Panasonic brand I believe) is the way to
go..expensive, but less hassel in the long run...
Canterbury Mazda would be my first port of call...they have excellent
discounts to ChCh MX5 owners club members and are extremely supportive of
our local club.

that the subiject of batteries and types has been discussed recently. Have
a read there and see if this is helpful.
