OEM Cruise Control?

Post by Angreal » Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:33 pm

I've noticed that in the states that their miatas had cruise control as an option. Does anyone know if Japanese roadsters are compatible with these cruise control kits?

Why do I need one I hear you asking? I have a lead foot and need to stop getting tickets whenever I go to ruapehu...

My work vehicle, a Nissan X-Trail, has cruise control, and both of my Preludes had it too.

I wish my Roadster had cruise control, it's the one thing I really miss.

I am working through fitting US cruise control to my MX5 at the moment, it seem possible, but it by no means trivial, my spend is approaching $400 and there are still bits that i will have to make, however it will appear stock which is nice, but the wiper stalk and indicaters will end up swapped over

Jaycar used to do a kit that was universal. I guess a look on eBay may be worth a look. I thought the us cruise was only on air bag equipped miatas?

I cant say for sure about the air bag only thing, however my kit will need modifying as it was from a car that had air bags and the clock spring is wrong
