Polishing a hazy lens
Started new topic so others could follow advice if need be. Further to my fuel issues in general chat was asked why i do not polish my hazy boot lens?......... I have not seen this done before so do not have it in my knowledg bank. What is the best product to polish with? Something like jif or brasso? Big thanks to the replies that get posted. The generosity of forum members to help the less knowledgable is awesome. Its what makes a site like this work for the benefit of all.

Hazy lens
Thanks Guys. I dont have a supply of wet n dry so will probably put funds towards a replacement lens. I have already ordered it so would not like to reneg on Ross. It's not a big outlay buying parts from MX5PARTS. Will allow me to use the time needed to go purchase wetndry and perform polish to do my trade and get paid for it. Will probnly work out cheaper in the long run. Thanks for the advice. Im sure many others will benefit from the thread read as well.i can polish mine at my leisure and put it in the spare parts dept. murphy law is when you got the part you never need it. Lol . Keep up the awesome posts everyone.

Sorry man I'll have to correct you on that one. I got pinged for having mine too dim (had a small leftover LED bulb in there with the same base, but didn't give out 360 degree light) when taking it through VTNZ. Then again, it was VTNZ...MrGrey wrote:for starters, I don't think that light is required for a warrant.

Hazy lens
I had a rain off this afternoon so scored some wetndry on way home. 3 sheets $7. Ater about 30 seconds with 600 grit the lens was looking like this.
Then a stint with 800 and then 1200
Finally rreplaced lens and hit it with a polishing buffer. Took a bit of paint of around the lip but thats no drama.
Pics appear to have loaded in reverse order sorry. Also got a double insertion of first pic. My first time doing multiple pics.
Thanks for the polishing advice everyone. Hope this is of help and inspiration to others suffering hazy lenses. Im booked for a WOF tomorrow morning so hopefully allwill go well and ill be back on the roads. Just in time for the rain. Should be fun
