Front Tyres Rubbing?

Post by Fezch » Tue Jul 28, 2015 11:18 am

Hey guys.
When I turn full lock in either direction and accelerate, I can hear a sort of grinding sound. My mate thinks it's the tyres rubbing, but I'm not too sure. It also only seems to happen when I'm going forward, not when I reverse.
Any other ideas as to what this could be?
(I can upload a video of the sound if that would be easier)

What wheels do you have?

My OEM wheels with Direzza DZ101s did this; I think it's the tyre being dragged across the ground; it seemed to happen more noticeably when it was wet.

It is more noticable when it is wet, but I'm just on stock rims and 18560R14s.

Yep, from what I've read it seems to be pretty normal, just a result of the car's suspension geometry.

(I haven't noticed it happening since I fitted wider wheels+lower profile tyres, but it's probably also influenced by ride height, tyre type and alignment settings)
