LSD or non LSD
So, bought a car on a whim, and it turns out it had a spare diff in the boot.
you turn one axle and the other turns in the same direction, is that a LSD or non LSD?

If it's a 1.6 diff, the flanges on the stub axles are different between open and VLSD. If it's a 1.8 diff, you can identify a Torsen LSD by looking through the axle holes, or alternatively, by looking through the filler hole and seeing if you can spot the worm gears of a Torsen (if you have stub axles and don't want to pry them out).
