Need a Wheel Alignment. Any good places on the Shore?

Post by tomtikki » Mon Feb 18, 2013 9:37 am

Ok just replaced my tired tie rods and fitted a 16mm rear sway bar.

Wheel alignment time..
Anyone got a recommended w/a joint -preferably on the shore- that doesn't charge the earth BUT will actually do a proper job not just toe & go?
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I got mine done at platinum wheels. They set it up how i wanted it and i think only charged $80. Also they can fit fairly low cars on their machine.

I got a full set of tyres for the wife's car a cpl of years ago from them and I remember the service being great. -I had forgotten all about them until now!

Hi Tomtiki - have you seen the specs on the 949 racing site re alignment suggestions for road/track and track cars...?

Might be of interest.

I have used the road/track above 12"setting and found it great on track and awesome on the road.

Cheers for those specs MK, i took the above 12" settings with me and they got as close as they could to them.
-they could only get 1deg neg camber on the front though not the 2 recommended by 949-
Oh and chur to Paul as i believe Aaron checked with you before he went ahead to see if the numbers I gave him were kosher.. Fair enough, it was obvious i didn't know much on the subject!

Glad to get it done, car feels good and im feeling more confident in the setup now - ready for my next trackday at Hamptons on the 29th of March!
...Although she is running like a bit of a pig since that trip to Vegas & back with a loaded trailer... perhaps a service or more is needed...

Could try calling Ressa at Tyre City Glenfield. Did the alignment on my old Roadster and is a really good guy.
