NEW MX5 OWNER NEEDS HELP

Steve, firstly welcome to our world. You will not regret buying an MX5, they are really reliable and fun. FYI if you ever need to research stuff for the MX5 always Google Miata. As Miata is the name for the MX5 in the USA, Aussie and the UK. 1. This can be a hotly debated topic on any forum, and has...

NA8 HKS Exhaust

I agree, the replacement cost for one of these would be huge, the cool
factor alone is worth the upgrade. I have some HKS Hyper D fully adjustable
front shocks I couldn't sell a while back, one of the best brands you can
buy. Hmmmm

Damn right, I'd be disappointed too, it's clearly one of two things, A) The 8 year old homeless Vietnamese boy who individually checks each email for correct spelling, etiquette, senders email address and length of membership was high on crack cocaine got confused as he can't read English anyway and...

Hey NicT welcome to the forum. Search for 'Drifting' and 'Miata' on youtube there are some great video's. They should be ideal as they have the 50/50 front rear weight split although a little short on power at times. That can be cured by a little rain  Understeer can also be a problem due t...

Wow what an overwhelming number of responses  Unfortunately the project turned out to be a bit of a horror story so is on hold for now and the White hot Mazda's gets a reprieve. None the less I’m still interested in storage or potential buyers. I'm looking for a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertib...

What is the best way to hang the hard top

In the back of the MX5 club magazine they used to advertise a simple harness system that one person could operate, I am no longer a club member so I can't be sure they still advertise them. I've had a look and found an issue form 2005, It's called a Hard Top Hoist and is $145 from Rex Findlay, 09-52...

No, no and no http://www.transfund.govt.nz/vehicles/get-your-lights-right.html#cosmetic I watched a guy on police stop getting stopped for the third time for blue lights on his dash facing forward. And at $200 a time that's a nice $600 thank you. I don't think blue ios a good idea either, there is a...

Front spoiler mounting

I did mine with 6mm bolts and washers. The factory installation is just
plastic clips. It took a couple of scrapes on the ground and was fine. Even
the bumper doesn't have much holding it on.

Sadly the White Hot Mazda may be for sale.

Sadly I may need to sell my baby due to lack of garage space as another project arrives next week, for which I will need all my Garage space. So if you a) know of some reasonable cost, safe storage, on the north shore or, b) you, or someone you know of, is thinking of buying a pretty fast turbo NB, ...

hp v kw

I just round up the 0.743 to 0.75 so a simple rule is
1hp = 750W
100hp = 75KW

It's the same with electric motors, a 1 hp motor is 750W
common on cheaper power tools is a 1/3 hp or 250W. 1/3hp sounds so much
better from a sales perspective :)

NB Speedo - NB6 NB8 and autos

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks, although mine also has a black sensor.... but given the two speedo's read differently from the same sender most likely means the change is at the speedo end. I have managed to make the adjustment via an electronic device, but it bugs me as there should be a way to do i...

NB Speedo - NB6 NB8 and autos

I have 2 speedo's one white and one black original, they read differently so that puts the solution in the unit itself. I think it is a 5 speed / 6 speed thing, can someone confirm that the NB 1600 sometimes came with a 5 speed not a 6 speed? Indeed Sprta you're probably right, I didn't look at the ...

NB Speedo - NB6 NB8 and autos

Indeed. It seems unlikely that Mazda would make 2 different dash clusters depending if they were for a 5 speed/6 speed or auto etc. So I am assuming there must be a jumper (Wire link) that can be soldered in place to make the change between final drive ratios so that the speedo reads correctly. I'm ...

NB Speedo - NB6 NB8 and autos

Sorry to raise this one again, I'm sure someone told me there was a way but I can't find it. Is there a jumper or something on the back of an NB speedo to select between a 5 speed or 6 speed or maybe even an Auto?

Brownie, did you ever find an answer?

15 years old and it has none of the rust of the rust of the so called NR-A
special. Looks to be in great nick.

Not my cup of tea but I can see it's merrits, I image it would appeal to the
classic MG fans.

Wow I just looked on the Advanti wheel website and they are all 5 stud,
maybe a good time to get a set of 4 stud wheels before they disappear.
