Yeah, will be interesting to see how they work out. Im not sure what the software will be, if it similar to the nissan stuff and uses the same style of tuning.

Old DOHC Turbo mazdas had a fairly basic ecu, fuel only, looks like the mx5 one is a little better.

Have a read of this

http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles ... ering.aspx

you could prob make something to do similar, but remember the pressure on that side of things is pretty high, so would take some good quality fittings.

I find with mine, even tho its now running high 12's AFR at 7000 ish, it starts to flatten out in power, i cant really see why you would want to rev to 8k all the time. Got a daughter board coming to try anyway, proper tunable fuel and ignition maps, rescalable injectors, possibly afm swap to rx7? s...

Ive heard of it, no idea what it is and google hasnt come up with a how to, and tbh, the car is pretty well out of puff by redline, and mine does seem to rev past the redline, although ive not hit the limiter as it runs out of power up there anyway,

I was fortunate i got mine into a carport for storage, im moving house and its normally in the garage but was going to put it on the road. The roof on mine is def a bit rough, has a couple of patches over drivers seat that were weeping, and dribbles around the windows a bit. My sister rang me later ...

Tuning and Daughter boards

I tuned my car the other night by adjusting the preload on the spring for the air flow meter, made a fairly substantial difference, used a wide band O2 sensor and leaned it out by 8 clicks. Also i am talking to a supplier in Japan for daughter boards which will make the factory ecu tunable. I am cur...

Was prob 4 there, think front and rear are the same, only reason i got a rear one is it was already sitting on rear seat as someone had taken door trim off.

I used a piece of 25mm webbing and just screwed it onto holes with suitable screws. worked fine but looked huckory, and was odd not having a arm rest. Got a 323 one from pickapart, think it was off a rear door, lined up with lower 2 holes perfect and looks the part.

im not worried about extra power atm, i know these engines are limited and turbo is the only way to guaranteed power, i just find it sounds unsporting, an intake roar would be nice, will make a pod adaptor and maybe a cold air feed and see. On another note, adjusted thr afm yesterday, leaned it heap...

Slightly OT, but does a pod filter cold air intake make the stock engine sound a bit better? Im kinda a bit bummed about how un-sporty the engine sounds, im tempted to go turbo just to cover the horrible noise of the engine with sucking noises. Exhaust is stock, might do a system for it at some stage.

Took headers off and welded the fine cracks i could see, but it looks like the leak is down the center of the collector, which is pretty much impossible to weld, so might need to find some new ones or cut the collector off and weld it up and weld back on. Argh.

Im 6'3 and about 103kg, i just did the "foamectomy"mod to the drivers seat. Sit a lot lower, def a improvement. Looks like the steering coloum could be modified to be about 10mm higher with a bit of work. Im debating removing the drivers side sunshade, it is in the way a bit. Ive also removed the dr...

I find that odd, mine are cracked so need to remove and repair anyway, but the pipes are horribly crushed into the collector.

Costs me nothing to make my own i guess, will prob make my own pipe to the cat from there in 2.5 anyway.

Turned out to be 2 issues, the heater seems ok, but the floor is soaked, but its just water, so either a leak or aircon is not draining, i used it last night due to fogging, but its soaked so might still be a leak somewhere. The heater hose that goes around the back of the head had a pin prick hole,...
