Without looking inside the diff or pulling a wheely with one wheel on the grass it's almost impossible to determine if it's a torsen. I'd also put a vote in for the gear box seal/gater. I did mine on my NA and it made a huge difference. One symptom of this can be a warm gear box gaiter when driving for a while. I also just replaced my friends one on a 99, so anything older than 10 years has bound to have worn out. You can buy them...

That sounds about right, both my previous speedo and my company car read about 105k when my GPS says I'm doing 100k. My na boot would leak when I parked the car facing uphill. It was fine
on the flat. The seals around the tail lights are a possible source of
problems as the boot gutter feeds down to them.

My NA would leak if I parked it facing uphill, I think it was because the middle of the top drain was a couple of mm lower when facing uphill.
