Surface rust
Hi There is only one choice here, its a brand of rust products called POR15 and is really "GOOD SH*T" (it even says this on their web site ) for rust control, 1000 times better than any zinc based primer. The website is www.por15.co.nz and lists all the distributors in NZ, I have bought mail order f...

Pedders Suspension Suck & my rear chasis brace still won
Hi Ross
Thanks I've done that but now will they still have enough adjustment to do the
wheel alignment correctly as I can now see the rear wheels have quite a bit of
toe in.
Cheers

Pedders Suspension Suck & my rear chasis brace still won
Thanks for that , I was recommended a guy called Peter at Marshall tyres in Nuffield St in Newmarket. But I thought Pedders would be OK being a suspension place. (also they got oily hand prints all over the guards... grrrr...) as it's a major to get my car to the city. And Hi Michael and Kate, yes I...

Pedders Suspension Suck & my rear chasis brace still won
Hi If you want a wheel alignment don't go to Pedders Suspension in Auckland, I printed out the wheel alignment specs for them to follow (From Miq's). I got it back with a report saying my shocks and suspension are all good, so I asked what about the loud knock in the steering that I had specifically...

Broken Wing Mirror.. HELP!!!
Hi Ross, Thankyou so much. The mirrors have been repainted and I really was not sure if the black bit was a glued in retainer or just a moulding line. I'll give it a go cheers. You're right about the rust :-) there is a fair bit of it falling out. Thanks Gazza PS:- Got my spoiler painted and fitted,...

Hi Got my car back from the paint shop today but the passenger wing mirror is all floppy then it came off completely at the ball joint. There is a screw that goes up through the ball joint into something inside the mirror. Whatever this is inside the mirror its rattling around. Does anyone know if I...

Rear suspension brace.... it wont fit.
Hi all I bought a rear suspension brace from Ross in Hamilton but the holes are about 5mm out (not Ross's fault as it looks about right against my friends car). Someone told me when I mark the suspension bolts locations, then loosen them, they will move and I will be able to slip the brace on, but I...

OK, I'll re-word it... Cheap shocks... any ideas.
Re-shocks I know I'll be commiting some form mortal sin for some people but I'm thinking along the lines of plain old Monroe shocks. I'm also a member of a Jet Ski technical forum in the USA and it's the same thing, people wriet in and ask for cheap options and alll the die hards write back with inf...

Hey all. Thanks for your reply!&s, and more questions if I may. Shocks!K. Mine are pretty old, can anyone recommend a type (and place to buy) some reasonable ones. Ash tray lid, spoiler & thanks Glenn
Hi All First thanks to Glen for the white dial artwork. Secondly, does anyone have an original black ashtray lid to sell (just lid and sliding cover, don't need the base) from when they did an upgrade?? I cleaned mine and it's gone a funny grey colour in parts, like it's been painted at some stage. ...

Do you need a new radiator fan.... here's a cheap alternativ
My radiator fan died recently and I was horrified at the price of a new one through Maxda at over $600 for just the motor. I tried stripping the fan motor with little success. My next option was $180 for a second hand fan that could crap out in a couple of months.I looked round for after market opti...

White dials...
Thanks once again. I copied the dial artwork from your site but it's only a 19K low resolution file and the picture is 411x575 so it will not print so clearly full size. If you do have the full file that would be great, and as you said thanks to Nigel E, as the extra bits really make a difference. I...

Roll Bar/Style Bar
Wow Glenn that's great thanks, you have put the bar in exactly the place I want, too many bars go straight between the posts and prevent the seat reclining enough. I really like your white dials too, do you still have the art work on disk?? They look so much better than the ones I've seen for sale. ...

Glenn (sorry I don't know how to email just yourself) I'm new to MX5's and one of my first projects is also a Style Bar. My friend David Moughtin has one that I had a look at but his sits directly between the posts and I'd like to make one that sits back a little so I can recline further. I was goin...

Exhaust wrap
Hi All I've also investigated this subject today and found two things, the first being that, yes cast iron headers can crack as they get too hot and become weak, but drawn steel pipe extractor types are no problem. The second thing, I rang a few shops for advice and pricing of exhaust wrap but only ...
