Just throwing out couple of ideas: * Dwell time on your coils. This is the amount of time current flows through the coils to charge them up. Once the coil has fully charged, continuing to hold them on will produce excess heat and eventually burn the coil out. * Coils not getting enough current. This...

I think you've got them mixed up. You can see the ignition capacitor in this picture. I wiped the gunk off the harness and it's definitely a blue/black. http://www.mx5forum.co.nz/files/thumbs/t_mystery_connector_144.jpg White/Red, Yellow/Red: Charcoal canister purge solenoid Blue, Black: Ignition ca...

The White/Yellow Green/Orange(?) connector is for the catalytic converter thermal fuse.

The Blue/Black connector is for the ignition capacitor -- small 1 inch-ish black box with two wires coming out of it. Attaches to the igniter bracket.

I've checked a friends 1990 for your mystery connectors: Blue/Yellow is power steering pressure switch. On his car the wire is just awkwardly draped over the thermostat housing with no obvious place to secure it. The relay and brown 2-pin connector are AC related. I think the brown connector is a pr...

Yep, from what I've read it seems to be pretty normal, just a result of the car's suspension geometry.

(I haven't noticed it happening since I fitted wider wheels+lower profile tyres, but it's probably also influenced by ride height, tyre type and alignment settings)

What wheels do you have?

My OEM wheels with Direzza DZ101s did this; I think it's the tyre being dragged across the ground; it seemed to happen more noticeably when it was wet.

I wouldn't think 1997 Eunos Roadsters would be a thing anyway. They stopped making cars under the Eunos marque in 95-96. I assume they were sold as Mazda Roadster or something.

I can't get to it either, so it's probably not your computer; it's likely a temporary congestion problem. ISPs use different routes through the internet (e.g. Vodafone uses Telstra global's network) so sometimes this means a site will work for some people and not others.

Hopefully it comes back online. Snapshots of the site are available on web.archive.org:

I think it's cheaper for all passenger cars -- previously the ACC levy was $198 per year, now it's $158 for a 1D rated vehicle (e.g. the MX5) whereas it's about $68 for the safest vehicles.

Total cost looks to be $238/year for an MX5

Snapfrozen: does the 1.6 coilpack use the bracket as a ground path? Painting the mating surfaces might prevent continuity.

A mate's subie had a weird clunk like that, which turned out to be the muffler hitting the towbar.

You'll probably have more luck retrofitting speakers into your existing seats. Your seats probably have a zip under the seam which you can use to get access to the speaker mounts. You can get drop-in replacement speakers, or some people have had success installing small (4 inch) drivers.

Also, this means you can't legally "unmodify" your car once certed. If you had it certed with adjustable suspension, you couldn't revert to OEM or another fixed kit without recerting to get the plate changed.

If your car doesn't match the cert plate it's reason to fail a WOF. The plate specifies the ride height for adjustable suspension +/- 5%, wheel size etc.
