I have a 1990 MX5 with manual 5 speed gearbox. Does the gearbox have separate oil from the engine?

Is the speedo still accurate for 15 in wheels?
My recently acquired 1990 MX5 has 15 in wheels. I believe the original wheels were 14 in. Does this mean the speedo now over-reads by a factor of 15/14 (about 7%)?

not so great roadholding - any suggestions?
I recently acquired a 1990 MX5. If it hits a small bump when cornering, the back slips (i.e. momentary loss of road grip). Is this normal for the MX5?
