Re: NA Rear Outer CV joint
As above. The cv joint comes with the short outer axle unit as an assembly. They are the same as the Mazda 323 cvs. You can get them for under $100 each easily and come with boot and grease. The long "axle" to the diff just pops out of the cv once you've loosened the boot. Be aware they may not come...

That's normal for a new belt. I replaced mine a few weeks ago and the new one had more of a whine... After a few kms it quietened down.

Re: Where to buy a new NB Battery
you can its an ns40 battery easily if you also buy some new battery hold down clamps from supercheap as the ns 40 battery is about 20mm taller than an mx battery. take note of the size and orientation of the terminals. you can also fit a cheap U1R ride on lawn mower battery as its actually the same ...

Re: Any turbo or supercharged NC in NZ
the ONLY reason TDR did the rear mount turbo was in the U.S you cant remove the header mounted cat converter.. no such issue in NZ TDR do a specific RHD turbo kit for the NC and a ECU retune...thats the way to go

Hmmm bugger... I may have persuaded my dad to go buy a new ND. Wonder if this affects the autos AFAIK the nd uses the same auto gearbox as the NC so should be OK. ..also the more powerful fiat is rumoured to use the older stronger NC manual box as the test mules broke gearboxes in testing with the ...

short term easy mod for more spark is to fit new power and earth leads to the coil packs. the stock wiring loom is rubbish. basically fit a relay next to the ignitor that feeds off the alternator or big feed to the fuse box and run grunty power feeds to the coils. also upgrade the coil earths. this ...

you wont get rid of the noise...don't bother.` ]Its an harmonic in the drivetrain thats pretty much impossible to get rid of. pretty sure a guy in the club had a total gearbox rebuild and diff rebuild to get rid of the noise and all he got for his troubles was a $3000 hole in his bank account. and t...

^^^ THIS^^^^ my mx has 200 hp ATW and its decently fast. driven a 260HPATW MX and its INSANE for a road car. the TD04 turbo'd mx with 200ish WHP is going to be plenty for the street. a 1600 will make 200WHP all day/year long...an 1800 will do 240WHP all day /year long. my cars been turbo'd for 10 ye...

i hate to break it to ya, but the B6 motor in the MX is no honda. they breathe like shit and the head is really restrictive. the only way to get any sort of power out of them is turbo. any NA mods are just pathetic and costly... if you want a better car then add a lightweight flywheel and 2.0-2.5" e...

id get the tuners to check your cruise mixtures and timing. if your too lean you can spike Exhaust gas temps and cause a miss, can also overheat the O2 sensor and give issues. so many tuners just throw in a timing map then shoot for an AFR target but have ZERO idea what its actually doing to exhaust...

dont bother with an "alarm" get a GPS tracker such as the TK103B and have it installed PROPERLY and hidden properly. it will text you an alert within 5 seconds of an activation and tell you where the car is. you can ring it anytime and it will text you back its location with a google maps link. you ...

the biggest difference in terms of bracing is... 1) rear subframe brace between the lower wishbone bolts. (the later 1800 cars had this factory fitted.) 2) frog arms....yes weird name but they stiffen up the area around the A pillar and give better steering and sway feel. 3) rear seatbelt tower brac...

when you remove the compressor bracket there is a bolt that goes in through the oil pump housing.(front to back) this bolt MUST be replaced with a shorter one. its a finer thread than normal. it clamps the oil pump to the block. obviously your gonna have a leak or bad oil pressure if you dont replac...
