I work at a boat manufacturer in Southland. Most guys either drive a V8 to work or have one in the shed at home. They love it when they see me fall out of mine after a sub 2hour run from Dunedin or compression lock the coming into the driveway (size 13's don't heel toe too well) The few guys that ha...

Owning an MX5

YOU KNOW YOU OWN A MIATA WHEN… When your entire ride to work consists of you bitching and moaning in your head about how it’s loud inside, the suspension is too stiff, your tires make a ton of road noise, the stereo is barely loud enough for you to hear all the static, the a/c barely works or the de...

Why do people go to the effort to update their classified to say something is sold when they can pull it with no fees and no questions - its a classified, learn how they work? Pet hate... people that leave ads up for sold items piss me off.

Cambelt, crankshaft seal, water pump and rocker cover gasket. Had a mate help (do most of it), lucky too as the crank bolt was crazy tight. I was in the car foot on the brake in gear while he was hanging off an extension on a strong arm. I have a lose nose crank though, handy to know. The job ended ...

Furai, a foamectomy AND a 320mm steering wheel in a D shape will go a big way to giving you more room. You should have a drive of my car when it is back running. It is very comfortable for me now (although I am only 6'1"). I'm 2m or 6.6. I did the foamectomy, best thing ever. Still very comfortable...

I took the advice of the masses (you all) and slapped a 320mm steering wheel on. I can now get my hand past my leg - nice change. I can't see much more than the bottom of the gauges but I can handle that for now. Good advice. Today I grabbed some axle stands to get some space to get at my engine mou...

Is this what someone might call a 'camber pin' '? Last alignment I was told I'd need to replace mine.

Take the money out of it and I'd rather that over a Turbo with the same power. Yeah torque... but I like revs. Sue me.

I really like the look of the car too.

Line of sight is my biggest problem. I've removed the sun visor but still have to bend my neck to see. I've been reading about seat options but haven't settled on what is best.

Yeah, I have been looking for a better option for seats. For right now, I'm happy. I never thought to space the wheel out. How did you go about it?

fitting extractors and not upgrading to a heated 02 sensr causes all sorts of crappy running issues I use between 9 and 10.5L per 100km and this almost all open road. I do 440km a week with 410 being open road. The best I have seen is 8.5L per 100. I run 98 from BP. My car tends to run cold especia...

Long time listener, first time caller.

I'm what you might call a car guy. I always have been and I can't imagine changing. I bought my MX about about a year ago. It was then that I started reading this forum. I've stalked the classifieds and considered buying plenty (Keith's gear mainly). Note considered, but I'll get to what I've done s...
