Just passing this one on
It has been calculated that if everyone in New Zealand did not purchase a drop of petrol for one day at all the same time the oil companies could possibly choke on their stockpiles. At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss at the current prices of $1.50 per litre (30 litres ...

I have something similar. It's a "D " shaped piece of foam rubber, cloth covered. A friend who worked in a hospital "borrowed" it for me. The flat side of the "D'" goes against the seat and the round side against your lower back. After a few kilometres you can' even feel its there but at the end of ...

I had Owen fit a set of Bridgestone Turanza's 2 months ago to my Legacy GT and he told me the same thing - set the presures at 40 - 44psi.When driving home from his shop the car felt like I was driving on marbles- no feeling in the steering and wandering all over the place which it hadn't done with ...

They're actually called "Glass Mat Aborbtion" .There is a good article on www.miata.net in the garage section about how they were developed an why they are used in the MX5.The battery in my car, which I believe was the original was 11 years old.I dont think any standard lead acid battery would last ...

Hand Brake on 94 1.8
The guys at Rotary Power who were trying to fix my hand brake found that there is a difference between the 1.6 & 1.8 rear caliper. They had one to compare. But I have found out that they can be rebuilt ( thanks Fletch) so I'm getting it done next week. Thanks to everyone who replied. Steve Easdon Pro...

Hand Brake on 94 1.8
I was refused a warrant on my 94 1.8 because the hand brake wasnt griping equally on both sides. The left caliper is the one not gripping. I had the pads changed and the whole system lubed and adjusted without it making any difference.I was then told that when this happens you have to change the cali...

Ian It's all in the details. All the marques you mention were well known for their leaking roofs, electrical systems that left you stranded at the hint of moisture, brakes that didn't brake too well, fuel systems from the ark etc etc.. Mazda may have copied the IDEA of the classic British sports car b...

Must be the season for weird paint jobs on MX5s. I was cruising up the Motorway(Auck)the other day when I saw an MX5 completely painted over with a Union Jack flag.Given that the UK was responsible for inflicting on the world some of the worst sports cars ever made that would have to be the last fla...

The aircon works independently of the heater system. You can set the heater
to any level
you want and turn on the air.I normally have the fan at its lowest
speed, heater set abour half way and aircon on.Aircon removes moisture from
the air so no foged windows.

Every one thinks aircon is just for the summer. On a wet winters day with two
people
in an MX 5 and the heater on the windows fog up in no time.Flick on the
aircon.Presto
clear windows.I have a hard top with a demister that I have never used
because I have
air.

Sorry guys its not that easy. When you drain the sump some oil stays in the
filter. This is what makes the mess when you remove the filter in the confined
area where the filter is.The plastic bag idea sounds good.
