Should be changed according to the manual at 50K,got mine from the Mazda
dealer at about $90 and wasn't an original part either.
Since heard someone got one from B n T Automotive for about $60,access is
not easy but only took about 20min to change.

MX5 Stereo surround wanted
I remember one of SLYDIT's emails published in the Topdown mentioned Mazda Australia have the stereo surround and cubby hole underneath as changed in 1996 which allows the modern stereos to fit properly.I priced them at AUD $85 and $16.50 and they are available.I have the part number here if needed....

Have a nice 1/16 NA Maita in red on my desk here,had trouble finding it but
I think it was the Frankton Model Shop Hamilton that sourced it for me,could
be wrong though as a few years ago now but definitly a model shop up
Hamilton way.

Replaced my leads also with Ross's after reading on a UK web site that a
hesitation from idle on was almost always caused by the leads braking down
and the new leads certainly alleviated it.
Interested in comments on the plugs though.
