That's a cool colour man. Do you mind me asking what the rollbar cost you? I'm deciding whether to go welded or bolt-in From memory it was either 250 or 350? To be honest, since any rollbar with any hint of strength is going to need a little chassis modification anyway, you may as well go for a wel...

I just realised that the one you got from Don, is different from the one that I got, mine has two cross over points, makes it a real pain in the butt with the seats, especially when I put the race seats, gives very limited room to move back. http://www.mx5forum.co.nz/garage.php?mode=view_gallery_it...

Still not cleaned the car? Pics? I get the impression the OP is unlikely to reply with further pictures two years after posting  I was considering one of these, but I decided I wanted something far more solid. Looks like it could mousetrap in a roll :? ha ha! Let's see what I can rustle up! O...

Spent last friday removing the aftermarket extractors to get them welded after they had cracked around each exhaust port- I also had an exhaust rattle at around 2800 rpm. Turns out the two were related- The support bracket attached to bell housing had broken and the subsequent twisting was causing t...

Some nice bits indeed :) are you intending to take it on the track? When you get a chance, are you able to show some detail of the roll bar and mounting? Id like a similar style for mine but am unsure where they are mounted.

Leaky Manifold gasket V2

My car (98 NB RS) has aftermarket Maxim works headers which it looks like are leaking- This causes an horrible tractor sound at low RPM and large amounts of throttle- Any ideas on how to fix it? I've tried re-torquing the exhaust studs but it the leaks are coming from between the pipe and the flange...

Oh just remembered that I also bumped the timing too...it should still be alright on 91 RON but I was using 95 RON :) Plastic top tanks on radiators have a set life and can crack/perish- I think from memory it had actually been done by the previous owner? I gave the new owner all the previous servic...

The Sentia/929 also came with a 3l variant as well. I owned a 2.5 model for a short time....big car + small engine = slow and thirsty. As an engine they are nothing special.

Any early NA owners around Tauranga want a chassis brace?

Hi guys and gals- I recently sold my MX5 which had a roll bar fitted meaning I still have the standard brace that goes behind the seats- I'm leaving the country on the 9th so if anyone wants it and can pick it up then feel free to get in contact. The brace is standard fitment on later NA6 and NA8 MX...

The fact that the revs are dropping mean the pump is working but my guess would be that the refrigerant has leaked out- Easiest way is simply to take it to an Air Con specialist- They will be able to sort out what the issue is fairly quickly. Coming into summer, a lot of cars loose their aircon due ...
