Can't say I see the point in adding a starter button to be honest.....A previous owner had installed one in my MR2 turbo. Turn key (not too far otherwise you just start it the normal way)....then press the starter button....It was just far easier and faster simply starting the car with the key (i.e....

Took my car around Taupo motorsport park with 'clubsub' Subaru club...First time at the track in this particular car and it went well, far more composed than my NA8 thanks to the Bilstein suspension, LSD and better body rigidity. Haven't looked at lap times yet but was getting to just under 160 on ...

Yep mine have scrapes and one large dent- Standard RS NB too. The local shopping centre has the worst speed humps that I scrape on (and judging by the gouging in the paint/hotmix, lots of other people do too)- One time while getting a bit sideways to get over a particular one that always bottoms me,...

Well the (admittedly only) one auto-upholsterer I talked to estimated $200-250 per seat to add extra bolstering and recover the parts that need recovering.....So it would be around the same cost as using the Rx7 seats. The benefit of the Rx7 seats is the ability to use a harness as it has a gap unde...

I did a 'foamectomy' on my drivers seat and was impressed with the results. I wouldnt go back to a standard seat now. Was this something you did yourself? After a heap of time measuring and thinking, I'm looking at other options rather than using these seats. Basically, a couple of hundred $ for th...

Clubsub Taupo Track day- Anyone keen?
Im heading to a track day at Taupo on Monday the 24th Sept run by ClubSub (Subaru club) There are still a few spots open if anyone is keen and able- The 'benefit' of this trackday (as opposed to a PlayDay event) is that rollbars are not required so for someone like me, who intends to get one but has...

Ok thanks very much for that....hmmmDonovan wrote:Just had a look at the NB bare chassis that I have, and they ain't there. I know for sure they are with the NA8C (my brother has one, and have retroffited the seat belt stalks to that) but there isn't any holes or anything to screw in seatbelt stalks on the NB

There should be holes in your trans tunnel for the seat belt stalks to bolt to if you cant get them to work on the rails ;) Good to know! (and I forgot to ask about that, so cheers)- edit, they are definitely still there in the NB? I just need to ensure that my placement of the seat is going to wor...

Thread revive I've purchased some FD RX7 seats and will be modifying the MX5 rails to suit (i.e. keep the chassis mounting points the same and modify the seat rail to fit the RX7 seats) I've measured most things up and come up with a plan- This involves welding tabs to the front and back of each sea...

my guess (having owned a couple of Sw20 MR2s.....the MX5 is better ;)) is either a temp sensor or your oxygen sensor- If you are fairly mech minded, do a search for the complete MR2 repair manual which is online (or was)- This will give you all the testing parameters and procedures for the various s...

Mine is starting to do the same- Wearing through where the frame rubs on raising and lowering the roof.
Although I haven't fixed it yet, something like a piece of material (perhaps rubberised material as provided in blowup mattress repair kits?) glued with upholstery glue should do the trick I think

Thread revive :) Ian- How much was your rollbar and who made it? Im considering either importing a Hard Dog Deuce bar ($445 USD + Shipping...so ~$800 NZD landed at a guess?) or seeing how much it would be to fabricate one here based on the same design (and possibly raising the hoops slightly if poss...

Bra's are tuff! I like it. I don't get them? Spend a few hundy on a car bra to protect your car from stone chips in order to maintain its appearance....but as soon as you put one on you destroy the cars appearance anyway? I'd rather just spend the money on re-spraying the bumper if/when it gets chi...
