After a little thinking. I think fixing compressor will be taking quite bit of work in time wise hence more $$ compare to replace it. This is based on if I can find good working condition second hand compressor. Not sure if this is good or bad idea... My question in this post is that if I remove the...

Yes, I mean the magnetic clutch. The clutch could contain a friction material which could be slipping, overheating and giving off the stuff you describe.

Trevor.
Thanks a heap, Tervor.
I'll check with local garage and now I have something to tell them what to look for.

Thanks, I may bring it to the garage.
A Clutch you mean the magnetic clutch inside the compressor?

My car is actually running fine but I'm bit worried and wondering about what is the black rubbery (more like tar) looking staff in front (inside) of the compressor pulley .

Any input is appreciated.

Air conditioning compressor

to me it's NOT looks ok. I had big smoke and some melted rubber like substance spraying in inside the engine room and mostly event on the back side of bonnet/hood. It was diagnosed it could be an accessory belt and both are changed. So, that was about month ago and I cleaned the black rubber as much...

3rd party fog light wireing options

Hi, all. I have got a pair of Navra Compac 80 fog (not a driving). It fits resonantly well as not too big or small. It comes with some components to wire but because there is missing fuse box and so on I bought pre-wired pack include fuse relay and so on. I would like to use the fog when the parking...

When your tyres are straight at centre, your steering wheel also straight?
(just to eliminate easy one...)
I would check that first but other wise many of other member here would give you more accurate answer.

I have an MX5mart windblocker, but instead of using the flimsy upholstery plugs it came with to mount it I used bolts and big flat washers which holds it much more solidly. I have same idea. Could you share what size bolt you have used? At moment I have those nylon archer and metal screw with large...

Rubber is actually a tube. So, it feels spongy and it's normal.
Cable is on the side but not exactly at the edge as I remember, feel it inch or two inwards. While half close the top, you can slip your hand between fabric and frame/metal fitting.

Re: Roof help

Word of caution on Vaseline, it used to be called petroleum jelly, which will perish natural rubber. I'm not sure what the window rubbers are made of, if synthetic they should be fine, if not.... uh ohhhh.... but you could just play safe and use silicone grease, which feels the same as Vaseline but...

Have you properly adjust your latch? http://www.miata.net/garage/latch_adjust.html Side rubber sealer fits well against window? Those old rubber become hard and to conditioning this you can... believe or not ... use Vaseline gel. Spread it on the rubber in very thin coat. I found this "Vaseline gel"...

I have Momo Corse 350mm on my NA. It's very good with manual steering lack. All black and yellow/red logo. A shop messed the hone button with another model and I've got blushed silver one so I was using the original momo buttons for while. After I installed some other Momo staff, I have replaced but...

Unless yours a rare special edition like (J-Special, M1, M2, the first limited V Special - not mass produced V-Spec) and very low mirage, I think not quite worth keeping it as original. I would rather enjoy personalising as this car is very good for. There are so many compatible accessories and modi...

96 RON fuel (i.e. Premium in NZ) is around about what is considered 'Regular' in Japan. Premium fuel in Japan is closer to 99 RON (i.e. BP Ultimate 98 RON) I think "regular" in Japan is RON octane 89, "premium" RON 96, but perhaps extra premium grade is also available, as it is here. Perhaps Ben ca...

Where I'm come from. We have to be 18 to get driving licence for car. Well, 16 for a motor cycle that is bit of worry, but you have to pass paper and practical test like getting a car driving licence and this one is bit harder. Yes, that is Japan. Just to say thanks for all your attention and reply. It's all done and good as new . no more leak, I found some coolant leaked because of the old clamp was too weak. It was cleaned and clamp replaced.

PCV was OK, but I checked th price with Mazda.

valve is $30+GST and rubber bush is $8+GST.
