I hope you got some usefull or necessary stuff as well, its very easy to just buy eye candy. I got a new set of spark leads the other day and couldn't help but get a number plate surround and 'roadster' high stop cover at the same time :P

It should shine through, it will just be diffused. I will try to post a pic in the next few days of what the headlight up light looks like.

They will sadly diffuse with these particular dial faces. The headlight up light should only appear while the lights are raising (for about a second) so I find that one doesnt matter so much.... not quite sure about that other light tho.

Just got new leads from Ross at mx5mart. They are working brilliantly, it seems that this is the go-to fix if your car is running on 3 cylinders (or less).

Blue park light legality

Is anyone familiar with the laws around having different coloured park lights? I have seen a few courier vans around with blue LEDs replacing the small T10 park light bulbs in thier vans and I would like to do a similar thing with my NA but I'm not quite sure how legal it is... If anyone has some ad...

Battery dies on turn off

I seem to be having a bit of an odd problem... Every now and then, ususally after heavy usage, the battery in my '89 NA dies when i turn the car off... but only for a few minutes... I will turn the car off and everything will go dead... head unit, ignition, lights, alarm... everything. after about 3...

retrofitting glass windowed hood

It has come to my attention that I may be in need of a new hood soon... I was just wondering what kind of conversion (if any) is required to change my '89 NA to a glass windowed hood. And if anyone could point me to someone who can fit one in or near Lower Hutt that would be great as the local Mazda...

Thanks Ben,

The website says that leaking at the seals usually means that the hood has shrunk..... maybe its time for the all expensive hood replacement..... (its about time anyway)

does anyone know if a glass windoed hood can be retrofitted to an '89 NA?

door seals

Hi guys, This last winter my car hasn't been garaged as much as I would like and I noticed that after a heavy rain my driver side seat is quite wet. I have called 3 places in Lower Hutt (Mazda parts and dealers) and I have asked if I can get the door seals replaced without replacing the whole top or...

It is quite normal for you to feel that with a rear wheel drive car - especially a light sports car like an MX-5. As for the stiff gear shifting that could be because the entire length of the gear stick is only about 15cm. I don't know what you have driven before but with MX-5s you are sitting next ...

There are speakers in the headrests. I thought everyone knew this but I was talking to a couple of people with MX-5s and they had no idea. (The headrest speakers are controlled by the rear speaker input. There is a left and right speaker in each.) ( Admin: Excellent point... They are in NA models on...

I figured that after my own experience I wanted to make it an easier process for anyone else willing to attempt it. For example: The mx5mart website says fitting instructions are included when you buy the dials. The instructions were "Take a photo of the dials" written on the invoice. I hope that my...

4, one for each existing light. When you take the dash apart, assuming you have a Mk1, there will be about 8 light holders. Four of these holders are black and the other four are a dark green. The dark green ones hold the bulbs that light up the dials. (Ignore the other ones as these are for things ...

Hey guys, Thanks for your previous help with what lights to use. I have since run into another problem with the install...
