The bracket can be seen here: http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=51665 The bracket has two screws. One naturally to fit to the underside of the car. In the picture can be seen a 'channel'. The second screw attaches to a piece of plastic which is slightly angular to fit the channel. It'...

Could not re-fix the mudflap on the weekend. I think I may have lost a part whilst driving. I could not find any instructions on the net for fitting an NB mudflap, but I did find a picture of the bracket which has to be attached to the car body (which I have). It's the other end of the bracket that ...

Re-fitting a Mudflap / Splashguard for NB

I duct taped some cardboard to the garage concrete floor to see if I had an oil leek. After a couple of weeks the duct tape came loose, stuck to the front tyres and then wrapped the cardboard around the left front wheel as the car was driven out of the garage. It dislodged the mudflap and made quite...

It sounds as though you need a new front guard Or possibly a guard liner This may be worth an insurance claim If its the plastic liner inside the guard, water will drain from the space in behind easily. I don't understand this sentence... If its the plastic liner inside the guard, water will drain ...

Punctured the wheel arch - how do I get it fixed?

Whilst driving into the garage, I did not notice that my long, outside window brush had been dislodged. The brush was hard against a cupboard and the hosepipe end was angled towards the car. As I drove in, the hosepipe end has punctured the left front wheel arch (like a spear). There could be a 5-6 ...

Had Rapid Radio fit the Panasonic CQ-RX320 with the single din fitting kit.

I am happy.
(it may not be the best stereo in the world but it does everything we need and it looks pretty good in the double din area).

Naturally, I retained the original stereo.

Not quite bread and jam.

The wife rang JB-HiFi and we have now returned the stereo and received a full refund.

Thanks but I have an NB. I have purchased a JVC KW-XR616 and it doesn't fit. Once the stereo is out, the JVC is smaller, in all directions. So I have a double din unit which is useless. There is no Mazda fitting kit, they only do a single din unit with what I assume is a shelf. Believe me, it's jam...

OK, I have had a couple of on-line quotes. I realise that I will need to visit. Nevertheless: a) This for the JVC (double din) Quote... From the picture I believe you will need a dash trim for your stereo this is $70. The supply and install of the JVC double Din unit would be $450 incl gst. ... coul...

I think door speakers are 7"x 5" for standard ,If your car is a BOSE setup,They are a 6" sub,But if the headunit you have shown is right i don't think it is,Does it have BOSE badges on the speaker covers ? The headunit in the picture is exactly the same as ours. No there are no BOSE badges. So ther...

Also, get them to check the ohmns of the speakers first. I have a feeling the Bose speakers are something like 2 Ohmns or similar which will not be compatible with the new headunit. You may need new speakers. Cheers Stevo Anyone know what size speakers are typically in the NB ?. Also how many? JB-H...

New Head Unit for NB required

I have this head unit:
http://www.mx5mart.co.nz/photos/martpho ... stereo.jpg

and am thinking of purchasing this unit:
http://www.jvc.co.nz/KW-XR616.html

I will have to get it professionally installed.

Do you see any obvious issues?

Edit> It is a Jap Import with a band expander.

Do you know a good place to purchase a 'filler' to take up the space if I remove the present unit?

CD unit affected by heat?

I have a 2001 NB with a double din unit (I think that is what they are called). There is no brand name. Anyway, it has a band converter and I cannot use my Belkin FM Transmitter to play MP3's through the radio (even though it works in my NZ new Volvo). So I have decided to use CD-RW disks. What I fi...

I made a stupid error in that I said it was a 2004 when it is in fact a 2002. Nevertheless, I have done a deal with the garage that is selling the car and we are going halves. I wont post what I am going to pay for changing the cambelt until it is done and the sale goes goes through (which should be...

Re: Cambelt for 2004 Jap Import

Without wishing to offend, do you have a particular requirement which necessitates buying an automatic ? The MX5 manual gearbox has been a shining feature of the car since 1989........and is seen by most enthusiasts as a 'must have' - a factor to be taken into account further down the line. A valid...

Cambelt for 2004 Jap Import

Hi I am in the process (nearly there) of buying a 2004 automatic MX-5 and have just had the AA Pre-Purchase Inspection done. The car came out Grade 1 so I will definately proceed with the purchase. What I am concerned about is the replacement of the cambelt as the car is a 2004, travelled 69,400 km ...
