Re: Koni Adjustables on TradeMe, also lowersprings and Style
^ good post The stock spring rates F/R are roughly 165/100 lbs for the NA and 165/120 for the NB (correct me if I'm wrong) I had some 335/280's on some matched Bilsteins and they were amaizing cornering but a little on the hard side for comfort. I think it would be fine to fit Konis' with 220/140 if...

Are there any issues using Konis with standard springs? Tempted but not sure that I want my car any lower than standard. I know there's issues with the opposite case - aggressive springs with stock shocks, wears out the shocks prematurely. But the Konis with standard shocks... should be OK... one i...

Argh I need a bit of help with my memory here, I know Ross at mx5mart.co.nz sells stuff, but there was also another website recently started up, also involved mx5 something .co.nz Forgotten what it was called, didn't bookmark, Google doesn't help. Gaaaah. Anyone know what I'm talking about? BTW, it'...

sorry I am a bit too late with the response but : There were lots of cars there, but you would probably have been able to participate. It was $75 for the day - generally the club keeps costs low and tries to just break even. A number of Aucklanders went yesterday and stayed the night locally. You c...

Re: Who is going to the MX5 Club Driver training day this w/
Listed here on the club site - still says it is in the planning stages but I believe it is still on. Anyone driving down from Auckland on Saturday? i'd really like to do this does anyone have any more details? like, if it's full, what the entry cost is, etc. wouldn't be good to drive all the way do...

The Sports Car Club is a good place to start, not least because the annual membership fee is probably one of the lowest in the country. Marinerblue, will you be at the Pukekohe Playday on Monday? Euen i'd have loved to but unfortunately have to work regular hours weekdays shame that most track days...

thanks! i'll give them a try by the way i got those konis and other suspension bits from you installed, they're nice, ride a little firmer (probably because of the eibach 375/250 f/r springs i paired them with) but overall it's quicker around a track now which was the point of the whole exercise :wi...

what MSNZ-associated club to join
i need to be join a MSNZ-associated club to be allowed to enter the mx5 in some hillclimbs and time trials and the like but there's nothing like that for mx5's, the nz mx5 club is more of a social club i guess not really motorsport focused so i've got to join something else, not sure what. any recom...

I'm trying to track down some Redline oil around NZ/Auckland, basically their MT-90 for the transmission and 75W90 for the differential http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp?productID=46&subCategoryID=17&categoryID=7 http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlubricants.asp?productID=35&...

Anyone know of any place closer than the States that sells them? Like, NZ/Australia, or Japan...
Or, if someone's got a set, maybe I can buy them off of you

This topic comes up regularly. In short, the Ferrari owner can maybe afford the $250 instant fine more than you can, it is illegal not to display the regulation two plates on your car. Seems to be localized as to whether the boys in blue will stop you or not but could be a very expensive experiment...

stickers instead of plates?
There's this Ferrari F355 that I sometimes see about central Auckland that, instead of a regular full-sized metal license plate, has a sticker version of it on the front bumper. It's basically stuck on the front bumper and just follows the car's curves. Oh and it's also a lot smaller than a regular ...

I'm looking to do this kind of upgrade as well (or at least new shocks and springs), any advice on where I should start? - the cambelt is scheduled to be changed at about 100,000 km or a set number of years; so if that car's gone nearly 200,000 km on a single one, that would be bad, and may indicate other parts of it have been neglected too - getting a cambelt changed won't be hugely expensive, I want to say a few hun...
