We have a 99 special auto that has a lsd fitted from the factory. But as it is breathed on by Mazda speed it may have been done with their input. It most definitely works as it should which confirms it for me. There are (or was !) 200 of these built.

Hi, Check out Rosta in the US, most 5er's there use Rosta which has a good rep. I imported one when the NZ$ hit 80 cents last but as yet have have not fitted it. The information on US forums gives good fitting advice and also with the kit there are good instructions. I have found all the colour code...

Hi, I have always used premium in our 5 so can not comment on that, but I can say that our subie likes premium over regular every time. It may not make more power but hell it goes like a different car and returns far better mpg figures. All with out useing placebos! The difference is from stodgy to ...

Hi, Fitting an alarm and microwave sensor not only gave AA peace of mind but us as well. The fact that no one bats an eye when an alarm goes off kind of makes it pointless. I guess the cost of the alarm could be concidered our excess. As I said my mate is in the bay area with no problems. He parks a...

Now with AA and only required to fit an alarm to get reasonable insurance on our 5. My mate has a 90 5 in the bay I'll ask him what he pays and w...

Hi, I would suspect that the cost of replicating the top would mount quick when you start buying the rubber, and fittings. If you look closely there is quite a bit to the tops. As a diy project then the glassing would be cheap but the window and fittings will give you a beating. I found a nice targa...

Hi, I have just had it done on both hard and soft tops proffesionally. After the 2nd go it is still not perfect, the heated lines are quite heavy on our mx5 so you get fine line of air pockets along each one. Obviously not a problem with non-heated glass. From the drivers seat not a problem. From ou...

Hi, My neighbor just replaced his 91 with a canvas with glass rear window, they found the hoops rusty and the cables naf, cost around $2200.00. Looks terrific but I wonder how easy it is to keep clean after the birds have struck. Unless you unzip the plastic window it creases and shortens it's servi...
