easy to remove there are just 10mm head nuts holding it on then once you get it loose you will see there are 2 plastic clips that you can push out from inside the boot as you pull on it.

Thanks guys Im happy with how its going so far. To keep the dust down is hard I just swept and hosed the garage out between processes and have a couple of ol fans by the side door blowing some of the overspray out nothing fancy. took the day off and finished up the green and layed a few coats of clear down and off the gun im amazed how flat i got it I though i would be blocking out orange peel for a day or so! well after an hour of stripping the roof etc the moulding is stuck fast(only got the ends to move a little) so going to have to lift the rubber and mask under it its either that or destroy it getting it off! I was hoping that wasnt the case.

Cheers for that I guess i will unbolt the back of the roof enough to access as it as I looked again at taping it and not happy with doing that so its coming off.

Hi, im about to start painting our mx5 and looking at what im going to remove and all looks easy apart from the hard plastic trim that runs around the base of the roof where it meets the boot lid panel. I relly want to remove this as im changing colour and dont want masking lines. Anyone know how it...

Its expensive to make them look on ebay there are quality stainless polished bars for $50-$80 usd plus shipping so for around $250max landed to your door you would be hard pressed to make it for less.

swapping 1.6 for 1.8 whats involved?

When doing an engine transplant on the 1.6 NA is it possible to fit the 1.8 without changing gearbox and loom etc or are they totaly different? Our 1.6 is getting tired and if i replace it obviously the 1.8 would be nicer and i would do it if not to involved I am a mechanic but dont want to end up h...

No its 1.6 NA6CE its the wifes car I drve it now and again it needs more power to be fun might look at some mods soon if I get time being a mechanic its all about time and money just not sure wether to turbo or just do basic NA mods.

Thanks Ian, we use Patricks a bit for getting jetski seats recovered I work at the seadoo shop on Lichfield st so he is close by, I will go see him monday and see what he thinks. I was going to go there but thought I would see if there were any speacilists in town first.

Can anyone advise me of a good place in christchurch to get the back window replaced?
