I used a Grab One voucher for $89, normal price $200. Jay Bee Auto electrical, 55 Stoddard Rd Mt Roskill. The vouchers come up roughly monthly. They had some problems with my A/C as it was cycling much too fast, turned out that the recommended capacity to refill was excessive. The book said 650cc bu...

I have a 98 1600 NB, when I first got it I used 91 but noticed a slight knock after idling at the lights. The knock sensor backed the timing off to eliminate the knock after a second or so. With 95, there is no knock at all, ever. I use shell 95 or as it is called now "Z" Going to 98 is a waste of m...

The 1.6 engine was detuned to 88BHP for Europe before the 1.8 was introduced. This gave a vast improvement in power for the introduction of the 1.8 engine, good for the advertisers. The 1.6 continued alongside the 1,8 in Europe (at the reduced BHP) and Japan. The 1.6 continued in the NB up to 2005 f...

For Peter;- I had a problem where the throttle was sticking shut. I found that the stop screw was in the wrong place, allowing the throttle butterfly plate to touch the body and stick. I reset the stop to just hold the throttle open enough to not stick. The adjustment was very fine to make, about 5 ...

The heater hoses carry coolant all the time. It is critical that coolant flow is there to maintain correct cooling for the rear of the engine. The tubes from the heater core are very thin so undo the clamps, slide them back and cut the hose carefully to split the end of the hose to remove it. DO NOT...
