Spam Spam Spam Spam, Loverly Spam

Sorry about the recent spam hit... who would have thought the antispam protection for phpBB3 was so poor. Anyway, cleaned up now (was harder than it should have been) and some more antispam protection in place. I was overseas at the time so missed the big hit - apologies for those whose eyes a...

Long time coming... Server moved and is now phpBB3

Yes, been a while but finally moved the forum to a new server and have upgraded to phpbb3. Still a lot to do, and sorry some of it (like the garage) won't be coming across as there isn't a phpbb3 equivalent. Also, no more posting via email (mail2forum mod) but it sounds like it was rarely used anywa...

Hi guys, I'll take your advice as to what to do here - still need a plan for this site. My plan was to move it to better/more modern forum software and then maybe add a few more features as I can. I didn't realise how much chat was on facebook until I joined recently, but I did see a lot of it was b...

:?: So, what would the return be with 12', not 14? 14 degrees isn't a magic number, that is just the advance that most people have said over the years that they get better midrange and high rev power, with no detonation. Some people have said they can advance to 16 degrees without issue. The tradeo...

Re: 14 deg timing advance, but only for the first ~4000rpm

Any thoughts on doing this? anyone know of a plug in module that already does this? Hi Daniel, that's basically what most ECUs do, allow change to timing based on a configurable curve. My piggyback GReddy Blue does this and I paid $500 a few years back, and the Link or Megasquirt allows this and mo...

Hi Timmo, similar setup to my 94 (although it is sitting in a garage unloved!). It is all do-able... but if you don't watch cost you'll end up spending enough to start again with a new setup anyway. Most of my gear was second hand/gifted/traded otherwise I'd have done something different. I have a g...

Changes to forum... YOUR opinions sought

Hi All, just a few thoughts about the forum, and looking for some feedback. I put it here rather than the announcements section, as people may miss it. Note that I'm probably not going to do anything in the next week or so... just looking to see that people think. The forum has been around for close...

Some more server downtime... sometime soon

Hi all, I've been putting off moving the site to my new server long enough, so need to do at at some stage. That means sometime in the next few weeks the site will disappear - possibly only for an hour or two, but could be a bit longer as the internet catches up to where the new site will live. Not ...

Did you change it to an electronic flasher relay? I assume you have. If so you have not eliminated the original problem, but made the issue go away anyway... Did you check the side marker indicator bulb as well as front/rear? The earlier relays would be bi-metallic, heated up by current flow though ...

Hi G... I can provide advice if you wanted to fit it yourself (on the spot, on the phone if needed!) No time to help with the install though these days sorry. A self installed alarm is always more secure as you can spend time routing cables out of the way. And you don't have dodgy alarm installers r...

speaking of stolen cars... it is a timely reminder that GPS trackers are dirt cheap on ebay. you can set up a tk103b tracker with remote and a 2 degrees sim card for well under $100. I was checking on tracker models the other day and DX have these for US$50 ... (free 24hr ship to nz). Remote/GPS an...

MX5Mart is fine... but website broken sorry (July 2014)

Just in case anyone was worried, Ross at MX5Mart is still going full guns in Tauranga, but his website is unreachable at the moment (partly my fault... but not a lot I can do at the moment!)
