After-Market Springs
Sorry, but I don't know anything about them. They came with the car when I bought it recently. Since then I've decided that lowered cars are not for me. So it's either raise it back to normal height at a cost of arount $3,500 - $4,000 or sell it, or swap it for an othewise identical but standard hei...

After-Market Springs
There's a remote possibility that the springs off my lowered Mazdaspeed may become available. I'd feel more comfortable with normal height springs and shocks.

thanks, I do realise that "NZ Club is a non profit organisation, run by volunteers, so the organisation doesn't always go as smoothly as everyone would like". However without wishing to sound overly grumpy, I feel that if someone can be sufficiently organised to take my money within 10 days of recei...

I priced getting mine raised to standard height earlier today. It was almost $3500 ( excluding the club discount ), with new genuine parts. Seems almost worthwhile, considering that the car has almost done 100,000km. I'm going to have to find out how far the suspension can be expected to last.

I haven't driven all the way to J'ville. Maybe between xmas & the new year. I want to visit the end of the valley road. The worst piece of road was from the turnoff to the beach to Makara village. With the second worst from Makara village to the turnoff to the beach. Rest of the road was purrfect :D

Earlier this week I "had" to travel from Karori to Makara Beach. Just to see how well my NB went around corners  . It did that VERY well :D :D . BUT, due to parts of the road only being the width of 2 MX5's and a lot of blind corners I wasn't able to use the lines I wanted. This wouldn't have ...

I regret arranging my mx5 insurance with AMI over the phone. They gave me a $1000 excess on theft, because of the soft-top
, even with a reputable alarm

I bought mine from a hardware store. Although it is silver, not the more desirable black. I'm told that furniture manufacturers may have black ones.

Of the 6 bolts. 5 are self-tapped into the cap, they are about 5mm long. The sixth is 20mm long ( screwing into the rim ) & is placed nearest the valve. If it helps, they are a M6 thread, so any hardware shop should be able to provide a replacement. Albeit it one that doesn't look original. I suspec...

16" mags with Ventus K102 195/45R16 84V tyres
thanks. I hadn't bothered to take the covers off before, as I didn't think that there was enough room for the 4 nuts I found after I had removed the last of the 6 screws. Yes, it was only at the end that I discovered that I only needed to remove the one nearest the valve. I was certain that there we...

Pardon my ignorance, but does "45R16" mean that the tyres are a 45 profile for 16" mags? http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/tcfxgt/mx5/mx516-1.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/tcfxgt/mx5/mx5Ventustyressmall.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/tcfxgt/mx5/mx5tyrespt2small.jpg I've go...

I've also been wondering if this unit could be from Bose :?: . As the doors do vibrate to the sound of music. If it is, I'll have to replace the speakers as well. Is there any easy way of working out if it's Bose or better? The only ID on the front that might help is 1207. The Audiologic FM Radio Ba...

good & bad news in random order ... There are tabs, that can be "nailed". I took the glovebox out & snuck a look in behind. However this unit has eight :( holes for them, 4 on each side ( at times like I need to be an octopus ). And to make matters worse it feels like at least 2 and possibly 3 of th...

thanks RD5T3R. I noticed a couple of tabs on the top of the unit, which might be holding the trim in place. But didn't have time to investigate any further. Will try next weekend. I have seen screws half hidden by the unit, and cannot tell if they're holding it or it's bracket in position. Euen. The...

I wriggled & jiggled, but without any success. The whole unit could be moved several mm's from side to side in the console. At no time did it even hint at any willingness to allow itself to be removed. I'm contemplating on leaving it up the "the pro's" On the plus side I did discover why I cannot ge...
