Well time for an update. SC is fitted and the car is running. I'm getting the ocassional scream but this is I think down to the dual TB's not being set up correctly. The reading I have done so far on dual TB's seem to all use an eliptical cam so that the TB before the SC opens more. Is it possible ...

The second TB is actually mounted on its side, the cable operates from the top. where are you attaching the vacuum line on the inlet manifold ? if you start the car and remove it does the idle change - or car stall? do you h...

Thanks for the advice everyone, here is some additional information. The SC kit has a bypass valve, this is bolted to the outlet manifold and is fed from the inlet manifold before the second throttle body. Before taking the whole thing off I tried running the engine and manually opening the bypass ...

you might like to consider including a harness bar in the design - say between the back stays - as that would save having to do mounting points for a harness later if you are going to ever use a harness. like on my bar - see here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/668397/1991-mazda-miata-mx-5/page-3 also...

I have been looking at getting a MS for a few months and have done a bit of looking around. As you may know there are 3 MS units the MS1, MS2, and MS3. The MS1 starting at version 2.2, then v3 then 3.7 main board. The MS2 having a faster CPU etc, the MS 3 even more features. They say the MS1 2.2 wil...

I swapped to 1.8 brakes several years ago and can give you some data points to consider. on good road tires with good rubber at 100km jumping very hard on the brakes the front would lock up at 40km. - standard 1.6 discs, and standard oem pads. I swapped to 1.8 brakes - same fluid, again oem pads - g...

Mad Kiwi - I would not say I am small - at 95Kg I had a snug fit in my Mono T frame - when in a 2 layer race suit - it was not overly tight or uncomfortable. you do need to lower yourself into the seat. as to the shoulder size - I think the measurement can be misleading I have just checked and the n...

this has a good guide http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/seats.php I have a momo t frame - it only needed two holes drilled in the standard sliders to bolt onto those. As the standard sliders have locking on both sides these passed the scrutineer for an authority card. the t frame has a sprung base so n...

SLYDIT, RMS, thanks for your info, I was wanting to see what the official story looks to be. I put a homologated bar in about 8 years ago getting a log book etc and have had no issues with WOFs relating to it. When I put in the race seat and belts I got an authority card and that works good at WOf t...

SLYDIT, as you seem to have all the info - can you confirm my understanding, I have been under the impression that you can not get a low volume cert for any cage or bar. That these are covered on an authority card from MSNZ only ? Also that if you have a bar in the occupied area you must also have a...

if its just for clubsport stuff then anything goes really. if you want to do gravel or circuit racing with other cars you'll need a MSNZ spec bar. if you do a bit of googling for "brown davis" or "hard dog" roll bars then you'll see what sort of bolt in bars will be ok for a bit of weekend fun. In ...
