Hi, Mother's Protectant was recommended somewhere else on this forum, and I have had great results with it, makes it look really black and beads the water when it rains, but doesn't look too shiny.
It was about $27 from SuperCheap I think.

Hi, I am sorry but I cannot offer a solution, but can say that I have the exact same problem with my 1998 NB with Bose system - including the clicking near the steering wheel. I gave up on CD's and got a Belkin FM transmitter/cradle for my iPod nano. I would be interested in any solution as it would...

Thanks Fletch and Zorruno, I guess my lack of mechanical knowledge is showing  Makes sense when I think about the difference between when the NA and NB were designed. I won’t be making any timing changes any time soon, although might try running on 98 (currently run 95). Any ideas about adding...

Timing advance in 1998 NB 1800

I dropped my 1998 NB 1800 into Capital City Mazda last week to have the timing advance changed to 14 degrees that is talked about so much. I got a phone call a little while later to say that the timing could not be changed on my model. They said that it is common on the 1600’s but that 1800 NB’s lik...

My microwave sensor (and entire 5* alarm) is an AVS unit and was installed by Mag and Turbo in Wellington. They managed to tune it so that a quick movement, like waving your hand quickly in the car, will not set it off, but as soon as you pause for more than about a second it goes off. If I am stupi...

I just had the same in my 98 on Monday, well almost the same, it was just 1 light that was playing up. The when I took the bulb out it looked fine (check the connections too) , but when I replaced it with a new bulb it fixed the problem. I picked one up from Super Cheap for $9.50 so not a huge expen...

tonneau boot cover (soft-top cover)

Hi all, Just purchased my first MX5 (1998 NB classic red), and I've even had a few chances to take the top off in the middle of a Wellington winter :P I have seen a number of photos of cars with covers for when the soft top is down (tonneau boot covers maybe?) and they make it look quite tidy. Does ...
