Post by Psycho_Dad » Wed Apr 16, 2008 5:42 pm

well my girlfriend dumped me, so its about time i turbo the mx5... i feel it will make her jellous, and theirs nothing like a turbo to blow the clothes off women

ive figured to go for a budget setup, and yes ive heard the "it will cost around" speech and so fourth so dont worry about that, i just want to have a look at a gtx manifold on a 5 to see how the turbo sits and in what direction

oh and im going to be looking for one of those turbos and manifolds too if anyone has one for sale????

are they all the ihi flange?
im up in auckland this weekend so if anyone up their has some spare time to show me their setup that would be bloody brilliant

Peace

The GTX turbo manifold will not fit in an mx5.
youll have to custom make something or get a kit.
Im in Tauranga if you want to come and see my custom subaru VF10 turbo setup. (have a look at my site too in my signature)

NONE of the factory 323 turbo manifolds fit the mx5. they place the turbo right in the chassis rail. TRUST ME if it was as simple as using a 323 manifold there would be thousands of turbo'd fives around....your ONLY options are to use a custom manifold or one from a kit.

My car was fitted with a front drive turbo motor with rear drive inlet, sump etc. The cast iron exhaust manifold was used with a J pipe to position the turbo up beside the head. Easy to fabricate and worked pretty well.

well i got the billsteins in, car now drives like my dads nb mx5, and my front sits 20mm higher, indicating that these billsteins are for an nb

im not bothered tho, its easier to fit my jack under their now

i just bought i ev0 7 tdo5 turbo, im not sure wether its going into the mx5 or the mr2, decisions decisions

so which would you put in which? i have a gut feeling the lil mazda engine that could would last very long with a blower that size attached to it

i should be ordering a megasquirt this week, just bought 3sgte injectors, now looking for coil over plug setup, so if you know anyone wrecking a 2000+ toyota please tell me, or else
