Long time no update, because I have lacked motivation.
Last night I removed the steering column, why? Two reasons. First, I have a manual rack going in shortly. Second, I decided to see if I can either A) make a new one or B) modify this one to be better suited to my seating position.
It doesn't seem like it will be too difficult.
I will post pictures and what not tonight, but yay for updates!

You don't gain any lock, it's the amount of steering input you have to apply to get around a corner is more with a manual rack.BRM wrote:built4speed wrote:De power your current rack and use that otherwise you get a higher lock to lock ratio which is shit for the track.
You don't need much lock for track.

Tbh, you can argue this matter all you like, I am going to a manual rack purely because I prefer the steering feel you get from it.
Also - purchased a welder this weekend, went shopping for a tool bag, came back with a welder
#logic?!
But, I have had a shit tonne of practice with it yesterday, the welds are slowly looking better, so tonight I will be attacking the seat mount to get it as low as possible.

Been slow as hell updating this.
Motivation is kind of lacking at the moment.
Mainly because I just had to drop $620 on new tires for the daily >.<
However, Seat mounts are welded to the floor.
Steering rack has some 1/2 inch spacers to lower it a tad.
I have hours and hours of work ahead of me to install all new bushings.
Hopefully I'll get some motivation this week to start back onto the car!
