I agree with you to a point Grumpy, but what will annoy me is that with this LTSA ruling it will mean that my modified exhaust will be illegal, but a Harley or truck (with much louder exhausts) will be perfectly legal. They really need to do a proper job and have a set decibel limit for each class of vehicle. That way it can have a definitive form of measurement instead of someones opinion of whether or not its too loud. I would have no problem if I went to get a WOF and was told that my car was XX decibels too loud as it would mean I could modify it until it complied.

I agree with you entirely. I used to be involved with scrutineering at
various motorsport events in the UK an it was a fairly straightforward
process to use a decibel meter, providing, of course, you used it properly
and consistently AND had a set limit against which to measure.
Slightly less grumpy of Redvale

harleys are not loud in standard form.
it's just the average "badass" harley owner like the lorenzo lamas look
and that unmuffled sound.
more noise - faster hog.
don't pick on harley owners - they're just not very clever.
anyone who calls their own $25K motorcycle a pig is open to ridicule in
my book.
